About
The Empowered Vision Award was co-founded in 2024 by James Frazier of The Andréa W. and Kenneth C. Frazier Family Foundation and Milton Dixon III, a New York based stylist and creative leader, in partnership with the Council of Fashion Designers of America. Built on a shared commitment to expanding opportunity within the fashion industry, EVA provides emerging Black designers with the funding, mentorship, and visibility needed to accelerate their careers. Through the combined vision of Frazier and Dixon, with the CFDA’s continued guidance, the award champions the next generation of voices shaping culture, creativity, and innovation.
Each year, EVA honors one outstanding designer with a substantial financial grant and a customized mentorship program backed by leading industry figures. More than an award, EVA is a long-term investment in young creatives whose work demonstrates both artistic excellence and entrepreneurial ambition. By equipping rising talent with the tools to compete on a global stage, EVA ensures that their ideas, impact, and vision sustains, advancing a more equitable and imaginative future for fashion.
